Never Fail Dumplings

Is there anything that says old fashioned home cooking like the word “dumplings”?

This recipe contains only four ingredients, and shows the ingenuity of vintage cooks!

These are a staple in the south, so my mother, grandmother and aunts all made them.!

Instead of noodles, you can drop this sticky batter into your boiling soup mixture and have a delicious and filling meal.

INGREDIENTS

1 egg, slightly beaten

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups flour

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup milk

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mixing well. Drop batter by the spoonful into boiling soup or stew.

Let cook for 20-25 minutes.

makes 12-15 dumplings.
