Looking for a great addition to your thanksgiving table? Try this throwback recipe my Great Grandmother Ruby used to make. It’s a family favorite and I hope it becomes one of your too!
What You Need
Fresh Cranberries– 1 pound washed.
Medium/Large orange — 1 whole with peel
white sugar– 2 cups
Orange jello/gelatin – 2 small packages
Very Hot Water–2 1/2 cups
walnuts or pecans– 1/2 cup, chopped small. ( My personal preference is Pecans, but either nut works well.)
directions
In a food processor grind up the orange, complete with peel. Add cranberries. You want everything ground up well. Mix in Sugar and set aside.
In a separate bowl mix jello with hot water and stir until dissolved. Let stand until cooled.
Mix the cranberry mixture with the jello, then stir in nuts.
Place into jello mold or bowl of your choosing.
refrigerate until firm.
Bon Appetit!
