Personal History Writing Prompt: WEEK 8

Week 8, which means last topic for February. This month we have explored Love and Relationships and have written the love stories of our Grandparents, Parents and Ourselves.

This week, we will be focusing on RELATIONSHIPS with this weeks topic:

Topic: What have been the most important and valuable relationships in your life?

So what determines valuable and important?

That’s up to you.

Maybe it was a best friend, or your spouse. Perhaps a teacher or church leader. It could be someone who has touched and inspired you and shown you the true potential within.

Or may it is someone who treated you so badly that it taught you a much needed lesson of who really belongs in your life. (Remember this is about important and valuable…doesnt always have to be warm and fuzzy. )

questions to consider

  • How did you meet this person
  • Are you still in contact with them?
  • What made them special?
  • Any lesson they taught you?
  • Were they a good friend or family member, or just an acquaintance?
  • how did their friendship or acquaintanceship affect you?
  • Were they an influence for good and teaching? Or an influence to spur you on to change?
  • Would you say this is/was a healthy relationship? Why or why not?

writing challenge

remember this doesn’t have to be done all in one day. Take a few minutes a day and write a sentence or two if you are struggling with time. The point is you are doing it. You can always come back and tweak and add more.!
